What This Is
A custom-sewn leather cover that you glue and hand-stitch onto your existing 2004-06 Pontiac GTO shift knob. It is not a new shift knob.

Installation
Difficulty: Moderate | Tools: leather or upholstery adhesive, sharp hobby knife
You'll remove the old covering, glue the new cover on, lace the seams, finish the edges, and reinstall the knob.

Step 1. The first steps are the same as in the manual install guide for the GTO. The boot and surround are attached differently. Also the shift knob has a different shape at the bottom which you can see in photo.
Step 2. Find it here.
Step 3. The bolt to remove to remove the shift knob:
Step 4. Remove the retainers (4) one at each corner which attaches the shift plate to the shifter.
Step 5. On the back of the shift plate, if the holes are slightly large, put a drop of glue over each mounting prong after sliding the new boot onto them.
Step 6. Reinstall everything in the reverse order of removal.
Leather care: apply a leather conditioner with UV protection every 4-6 weeks to keep it from drying out and cracking.
