What This Is
A custom-sewn leather shift boot for your 1989-95 Toyota Starlet. It's the leather only: it installs on your factory frame or trim ring. It is not a complete shift boot assembly.

- Not included: shift knob, trim, frames or hardware. You reuse your factory parts.

Installation
Difficulty: Moderate | Tools: screwdrivers, basic hand tools, glue or a stapler depending on your frame
You'll remove the shift knob and trim, move the new boot onto your factory frame, and reinstall.

Step 1. Take both thumbs and push on the bottom of the boot towards the dashboard and then lift up. The bracket should pop out at the bottom. Unscrew the shift knob.
Step 2. Slide the boot down towards the handbrake. Then pull the boot and its bracket off the shifter.
Step 3. Unhook the boot from the bracket at the end indicated. Then take out the bracket.
Step 4. Stretch the new boot over the bracket and push through the 4 slits as shown. Take note of the cutouts on the right side of the photo. Line up the cutouts with the correct side of the bracket. Tuck the corners and edges around the bracket. You may wish to glue them. Squeeze the leather to hold it in place.
Step 5. Reverse steps 1-3 to re-install the new boot.
Leather care: apply a leather conditioner with UV protection every 4-6 weeks to keep it from drying out and cracking.
